U.S. Immigration

There may be several avenues open to you or to employees when it comes to temporary or permanent entry. You may find the choices and associated paperwork demands overwhelming. Our experts help employers and individuals in a wide range of immigration issues, with a particular focus on employment-based professional visas and on obtaining immigrant visas (“green cards”). Our goal is to make it easy for employers and for individuals.
Citizens of Canada traveling to the U.S. do not require a non-immigrant visa. Foreign nationals who are permanent residents of Canada must have a non-immigrant visa to travel to the U.S. unless the permanent resident is a national of a country that participates in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), meets the VWP requirements, and is seeking to enter the U.S. for 90 days or less under that program.
There are two categories of U.S. visas: Immigrant category and Non-immigrant category.
Immigrant visas are for people who intend to live permanently in the U.S. Non-immigrant visas are for people with permanent residence outside the U.S. but who wish to be in the U.S. on a temporary basis – to work, study, visit, for business or for other temporary purposes.
