Border Representation

We provide in-person border representation to applicants along the Canada/United States border. This means that because some workers can apply at the Canadian or U.S. border to work in Canada or in the United States, our specialists have the knowledge to assist them, and will accompany them to their examinations and inspections for an additional fee, plus expenses.
BORDER REPRESENTATION FOR ENTRY INTO CANADA
The Canadian system is very generous when it comes to allowing certain work permit applicants to apply for work permits at the border. It means that there are many situations where prospective employees who are nationals of many different countries can travel to a Canadian port of entry and be issued with a work permit, rather than applying at a Canadian mission in a foreign country. This practice could shave off as much as 8 weeks or more of processing time.
BORDER REPRESENTATION FOR ENTRY INTO THE U.S.
Only Canadian Citizens can apply at the U.S. border for certain work visas. For example, TN visas to work in one of the jobs listed in the NAFTA Professional Category and L-1[A] and L-1[B] to work as intra-company transfer can be obtained at an American port of entry.
However, Canadians applying for H visas, for example, must be approved before going to the border by a USCIS service center. The Canadian does not need a visa to enter the U.S., only the approval notice from the service center.
Citizens of all other countries must have an approval notice and a visa from a U.S. embassy before appearing at the border for inspection.
